This was such a fun activity! My students thoroughly enjoyed listening to the music selections and evaluating them. It was a task in which all students could participate!

This is a presentation of many of the most popular songs we hear during the holiday season. There is a mix of orchestral, vocal, and modern music across sacred and secular music.

Download the preview for a look at all included pages. Preview files can seem blurry due to restricted upload size. But everything in the download file is in HD quality.

Included Presentation Options:

  • Ready-to-go PowerPoint - Includes all songs below and requires no prep.
  • Ready-to-go PDF - Same file as above but in PDF format.

Editable PowerPoint Slides - included in the ready-to-go PPT, gives information slides on how to edit and add your own information. Template slides included.

Covered Information:

  • Short informational slide of each song
  • "Festive Fact" about each song
  • "Listen To It" slide with clickable SafeShareTV links to video examples.

Follow-Along Worksheet Options:

This is a rating-style worksheet with comments areas.

  • Ready-to-go PDF - Goes with the ready-to-go presentations.
  • Blank PDF - Song boxes are left blank. You can ask your students to write in the songs as you go for extra engagement or use for a presentation you have edited.
  • Editable Option PowerPoint - Includes a table with editable boxes so you can change all areas within the table that you'd like.

YouTube links have been included on a separate page on the chance your school blocks SafeShareTV, or you wish to use another safe browser of your choosing.

SAFESHARETV INFORMATION:

SafeShareTV takes YouTube links and eliminates the distractions of related videos, autoplay, and best of all, NO ADS! This is why some sort of safe-viewer is recommended in the classroom. I have also made sure to edit the videos to crop out any unnecessary beginning time (like applause) so you get right to the music after clicking the link.

To see if your institution allows SafeShareTV, (from your institution's technology) click the link below to test the connection.

>>>>The Piano Guys Lacrimosa/Hello

You can always make use of this activity without SafeShareTV or YouTube, just delete the slides with the examples and use your own listening materials.
