What educators are saying

My students are using this to prepare for the IAR test. We are located in Chicago, where we do a lot of adaptive testing. This is a great resource because it is standards alligned and provides my students will grade level work. I appreciate the hard work that went into this resource.
This was VERY helpful to get ready for testing last year. I haven't received our scores yet but the students seemed much less nervous than in previous years.

Description

If you need to prepare your students for a standardized test based on the Common Core, this “crash course” is exactly what you need! Organized by standard and easy to use, just print and let the reviewing begin!

What's Included?

This download consists of 9 “crash course” reviews with explanations and examples. Every "crash course" is followed by a practice assessment comprised of items aligned with standardized state tests.

Ratios & Proportional Relationships

  • Analyze proportional relationships and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems.

The Number System

  • Apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions.

Expressions & Equations

  • Use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions.
  • Solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations.

Geometry

  • Draw construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them.
  • Solve real-life and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, and volume.

Statistics & Probability

  • Use random sampling to draw inferences about a population.
  • Draw informal comparative inferences about two populations.
  • Investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models.

Answer key included.

Solve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures, including computing actual lengths and areas from a scale drawing and reproducing a scale drawing at a different scale.
Draw (freehand, with ruler and protractor, and with technology) geometric shapes with given conditions. Focus on constructing triangles from three measures of angles or sides, noticing when the conditions determine a unique triangle, more than one triangle, or no triangle.
Describe the two-dimensional figures that result from slicing three-dimensional figures, as in plane sections of right rectangular prisms and right rectangular pyramids.
Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems; give an informal derivation of the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle.
Use facts about supplementary, complementary, vertical, and adjacent angles in a multi-step problem to write and solve simple equations for an unknown angle in a figure.
