What educators are saying

Great activity to save time on AP content. Students were fully engaged in the content and learned from these activities.

Description

Product Description: If your environmental science kids are learning about groundwater, aquifers, and types of irrigation, check this webquest out. Below is a summary of each website used in this resource to give you an idea on what it teaches. Also, if any sites go dark, please contact me I'll adjust this resource within 24 hours.

  • Site 1: Students use a very useful website to determine what aquifer their town is serviced by. This website also has data about the water in this aquifer, such as tubidy, organic carbon, pH, phosphorus, etc. This webquest does not go into detail on that but I thought this was really cool!!
  • Site 2: Students learn what the water table is
  • Site 3: Students learn about surface irrigation, including pros and cons (flood, furrows, etc)
  • Site 4: Students learn about sprinkler irrigation, including pros and cons
  • Site 5: Students learn about drip irrigation, including pros and cons
  • Site 6: Students learn about the Ogallala Aquifer, briefly about the dust bowl, and the heavy, unsustainable demand from that aquifer driven by climate change.
