Description
This resource will help you introduce or deepen students' understanding of the Long Essay Question (LEQ). The provided LEQ prompts can be used as an end of unit assessment or a peer-graded learning activity. Scoring guides are provided for 2 LEQs. 4 alternative questions are also provided for a total of 6 questions. There are 2 questions for each historical thinking skill tested on the AP Exam: comparison, change and continuity, and causation. A teacher rubric and peer grading and feedback rubric are also provided to support your teaching and practice of the LEQ.

SUGGESTED PACING:
- You should plan on at least 60 minutes for the intro PPT.
- The LEQ should take 40 minutes (the official Exam time) -- if it is the first try, you may want to allow an extra 5-10 minutes for students to complete
- Peer Grading usually takes 15 - 20 minutes
