What educators are saying

Wonderful resource for both small groups and independent learning centers. Students enjoyed the activities.
I am very satisfied with this resource. I used it to create a beginning sounds anchor chart and my students loved it!

Description

Helping kids learn the relationship between letter names and letter sounds helps prepare kids for learning to read and write. These beginning sounds and alphabet activities are a very useful addition to PreK and Kindergarten literacy centers.

Literacy skills covered:

  • Identify initial sounds (beginning sounds)
  • Identify the letters of the alphabet
  • Identify the primary sound of consonant letters
  • Identify the short vowel sounds

What I love about this resource?

  • It can be used all year round for small group instruction, intervention groups or literacy centers
  • You can differentiate learning easily by focusing on specific letter-sound correspondences (e.g. SATPIN)
  • Mix and match letter combinations, so you can choose the exact letters you want your students to focus on in each session
  • There's a choice of picture sorting mats for Preschool / PreK students or blank sorting mats for PreK / Kindergarten students
