Description
Using American Sign Language simplifies and streamlines classroom communications by encouraging students to watch for nonverbal signals while also providing students with a way to communicate their needs with you without interrupting lessons or the learning of other students.
From simple "yes" and "no" signs to "music," "read," "play," and "help," these classroom management signs are great nonverbal tools that allow for students to communicate effectively with you and each other.

I use them starting with 4 year old kids all the way through HS students, both during live classes as well as when teaching remotely (no one has time to mute and unmute for each question!). Once the kids have the hang of it, this also encourages students to watch me which increases engagement overall and builds a lovely sense of community!
