What educators are saying

I used this for tutoring- it was very helpful and the students were showing progress. Just what I needed. Thank you.
Great resource to use during small group instruction based off those skills beginning readers need to be successful.

Description

Need a way to make implementing the science of reading best practices that is simple and no prep? This one-of-a-kind resource has you covered. These include decodable reading passages, so your students can apply what they learn practically. Before they read, they will practice the phonics skill through word mapping and blending activities.

It incorporates the heart word method for introducing new high frequency words in the decodable.

There are optional scaffolded lessons that spiral throughout the unit. It has everything you need to be explicit with your phonics lessons; or simply use the passages and no prep activities for literacy centers, review, take home practice, and more.

With over 400 printables, the value of this resource is way more than what it is priced at currently.

This resource is simple to implement, yet comprehensive in the content it covers with short vowel CVC Words. I break this unit down by one word family at a time, so students have time to build mastery. It builds on each other, so passages review previously taught words.

I also have a Science of Reading Phonics Curriculum Bundle that includes this set plus other skills here.

Our phonics instruction uses practices to encourage orthographic mapping. That way, students can map these words in their minds for quick recall as they read. Therefore, the practice activities will have students tapping, blending, mapping, doing hands-on word building, reading, and writing.

Please view the comprehensive preview for an extra heart word happy and clearer details on what is included. Plus, you can get a look at our scope & sequence. This is linked by the cover image.

You will find the following resources to support literacy development:

1. Scope & Sequence for the Unit

2. Teacher Instructions to Simplify Use

3. Lesson Plans for 24 Word Families Covering Short A, E, I, O, U

4. Phonics Posters for Each Word Family Covered (Black & white option included too)

5. 25 Different Decodable Reading Comprehension Passages (One for each of the 24 word families and 5 options, plus a CVC mix review set)

6. 100 Phonics Practice No Prep Printable Worksheets (Tap & Map, Blending Words, Mapping Words, Building Words)

7. Heart Word Posters for Each High Frequency Word (Black & white option included too)

8. Heart Word Practice Activity (Students will tap it, map it, and use it)

All you need to do is print and go! The word building mats, you will want to have some magnetic letters on hand.

This is an update on one of my best-sellers, so you also receive the original CVC word work cards that come in color in the file too.

This phonics-based reading curriculum is just what your class needs to increase their reading growth! For a low cost, you can easily use the science of reading best practices with your students. Make sure to wishlist for later if using the app, so it is easy to add to your cart later.

Make it Easy to Find. Add This to Your Wishlist.

If using the app to view or wanting to hold off at the moment, adding this to your wishlist by clicking the green button under the cover and title will make it easy to find for later should you decide to get this.
