What educators are saying

This resource has made a big difference to my teaching. I look forward to crafting my next year's goal around it.
This is one of the best resources I have ever purchased!! I have been trying to really do my own learning about Indigenous cultures and peoples, and it is amazing to have texts with connections and extension activities already laid out for me. Highly recommend!!

All of these read aloud's include stories and messages that honour various people from different Indigenous and First Nation communities. Some stories are autobiographies or biography style of children or great-grandchildren telling the story from their family members.

The first collection of texts are connected with the 2016 Ontario Kindergarten Program Overall Expectations. These stories have a message that Kindergarten aged children can connect with from their previous experiences or these past experiences would provide them with an entry point to connect with the stories told. For Grade 1-8 educators, these texts can be used as an entry point of adopting more stories and First Nation messages into classroom learning opportunities. Use the learning extension section for additional information or lesson ideas.

Near the end of the document, additional texts are included that are appropriate for Grade 1-8 students as well as Ontario Curriculum Expectations.
