Description
GOOGLE NOW INCLUDED: Need an alternative to chapter quizzes? Want individual student accountability and comprehension that is mutually beneficial to students AND the teacher?
Have STUDENTS divvy up the task of making a study guide for each chapter, using an editable template to answer literal and complex questions about what just happened.
How it works:
• Students are responsible for having their assigned chapter study guide ready to go on the day the reading was due, and THEY lead the in-class discussion, based on the pre-written questions they wrote as part of the study guide.
• Finally, the study guides can all be compiled into one epic reference that students can use to study for the assessment you will use later in the unit. (PLUS, the study guide asks students to come up with test questions, so your unit assessment might write itself!)
NOTE: This activity could EASILY be adapted for Acts, Scenes, or other sections of text, such as a drama/play. (I even used it for the "staves" in my A Christmas Carol Unit.)
