Description

It's hard to believe, but before the the 1800s, Christmas was not celebrated in the same ways we celebrate it today. Christmas traditions changed a lot during the second half of the 19th century! Many of our modern-day Christmas traditions originated in Victorian England in the mid-19th century. This forever freebie specifically shows students how the Industrial Revolution and a simple illustration in the newspaper helped create the Christmas traditions we still follow today. It is also a perfect supporting resource if you are teaching A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
