Description

As a special education teacher for 7 years, I have used this system in my own mod-severe classrooms with students with severe autism, where I worked with up to five paraprofessionals. I have seen general education teachers use it during gen ed. classroom instruction while I push-in for my students with mild learning disabilities.

If you are a teacher looking for an easier way to manage and reward on-task behavior for your students, paraprofessionals, and simultaneously collect accurate data, this is the system for you.

--The Bell-track system is an audio file that can be run through your phone or classroom speakers for all to hear in your room.

--Each chime after the opening bell represents a random interval of time, or moment of instruction, to look around the room and reward students who are on-task either verbally, with a classroom token economy, or edible reinforcement. This system puts heavy emphasis on positive reinforcement to increase any of the desired behaviors you want from your students.

---The applications for this file are potentially endless. Data can be charted on either a ClassDojo style app where students receive a point for each chime they were on-task, or names can be marked on a table or chart. Students can self-monitor the chimes for an interval of time on each step of a task (e.g. "I want you to work on this for 5 beeps").

-- Hearing an introduction bell can help develop student independence to having classroom materials ready, and relieve you as a teacher from giving several directions in succession, allowing you to sit back and praise or give points to who is on-task.

--Because it is random intervals, the Bell-Track keeps students attentive to the system on their toes. For mod-severe classrooms, it makes reinforcement across you and your staff consistent. Finally, at the end of the period of instruction, you can tally the points of each student earned and divide them by the total possible to give you highly accurate on-task data for IEP goals, or general data monitoring.

This download is for self-contained special education classrooms. It is a 30 minute interval track broken into a 20 minute on/10 minute off as a break. Simply loop the track for prolonged hours at school
