FAQ
Q. How is this resource different than your rhetorical analysis lesson plans?
A. My lesson plans can be done at any point in the year, and they are meant to supplement an existing unit. This resource includes 9-weeks of scaffolded lessons specifically designed to help teachers introduce rhetorical analysis to honors or advanced students.
Q. Does this follow the AP Lang CED?
A. Yes and no. The AP Lang CED includes 9 units of approximately 15 lessons each. When teaching RA, I have found that it helps to have a longer unit, which is why this unit creates 9-weeks worth of lessons. That being said, the lessons and activities in this resource easily match with AP Lang, CCSS, and state standards.
Q. I am a member of your Teaching Rhetorical Analysis Course. Is this resource right for me?
A. This information is included in the course, so you do not need to purchase it. Please reach out if you have further questions.
Q. I've never taught rhetorical analysis. Is this resource right for me?
A. Yes! I designed this with teachers like you in mind. This unit contains scaffolded printable and digital lessons to help take the stress out of lesson planning. While a couple of the lessons require some minor setup or additional supplies, most lessons are "ready to go." Each week contains a week-at-a-glance, daily plans, and easy-to-use links for your convenience.
Q. I've taught RA before. Is this right for me?
A. Possibly! If you're looking for detailed lessons of some common passages or new ways to present your rhetorical analysis lessons, this resource will be a great addition to your curriculum. You might also consider my rhetorical analysis lesson plan bundle (each resource can be purchased separately if there is a specific one you need.) These lessons can be added to instruction throughout the year, whereas this unit is meant to be used to introduce rhetorical analysis. Please reach out if you have additional questions. I'm happy to help you find the best resource for your needs!
