Description

One double-sided sheet is a Complete Book Log. Students can record on here when they finish a book, book level, provide start date and end date, rate the book based on 5 stars, and provide a written reflection. A total of 8 slots of this PDF file. At the bottom of the backside, there is a description of what the expectation is for the Reflection.
There is also a Success Criteria hand out (double-sided) that can accompany the Completed Book Log. I've created 4 exemplars of the expectations for the reflections on the Complete Book Log. My exemplars provided are from the book Divergent, so I would recommend this for an older group of kids (5th and up)

I've based this on our 4 point grading system (1 = well below expectations; 2 = slightly below expectations; 3 = met expectations; 4 = exceed expectations)

I've used this sheet as a replacement for the daily reading logs to lessen the work/grading for students and educators.

This has been a great way for me to see the kids respond to the texts - and sometimes I might even require their reflection to connect to something in our Reading Units from Notice and Note. Once they've finished and successfully logged 16 books, they earn a Good Reads account, and then can start tracking their books online (using our Chromebooks) and not do the paper print offs anymore.
