Comprehension Worksheets - Kindergarten Reading Comprehension

This comprehension packet of worksheets has been carefully designed to help develop comprehension skills in beginning readers. It is filled with a variety of worksheets that will have your students read decodable sentences or short passages that are filled with CVC words and simple sight words. The activities are designed to encourage little readers to pay attention to what they are reading and to use clues from the text to gather meaning.

This packet is ideal for Kindergarten and early First Grade students. The sheets are organized by short vowel sound so that you can easily integrate them into your teaching programs. There are 10 worksheets for each short vowel sound, as well as an additional 10 with mixed short vowel words. That makes 60 worksheets in total. Use them for guided reading, literacy stations, intervention programs and more.
