What educators are saying

This was an excellent resource for my students. I used this instead of the book. It was easier to use and explained everything perfectly. It provides examples that really give students practice.
Super resource with many helpful pages and work for students containing many concepts regarding the coordinate plane.

    Description

This is an EDITABLE guided notes bundle to help teach our students about plotting points on the coordinate plane, finding distance between two points on the coordinate plane, and how to reflect points across the x-axis and y-axis! All of these notes have students working with all 4 quadrants.

    Coordinate Plane Graphing Note Sheet

With this note sheet, students will practice plotting points with ordered pairs. Coordinate pairs contain both integers and rational numbers (to the nearest 0.5). There are ten points for students to plot, which reveal a star as the secret image. Students will practice plotting points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane.

This coordinate plane worksheet can be used as introductory notes, classwork, an exit ticket, homework, and more!

Finding Distance Between 2 Points on the Coordinate Plane Notes

These are EDITABLE note sheets to guide students through finding the distance between two points (2 vertical or 2 horizontal points) on the coordinate plane! Students plot the 8 given points to represent 8 different places in a town. Then, students find the distances between the places in the town. There is a step-by-step guide for students to reference on the note sheet. The ordered pairs between the two points on the coordinate grid either share the same x-coordinate or y-coordinate of the ordered pairs. This coordinate plane worksheet can be used as introductory notes, a practice worksheet, an exit ticket, homework, and more!

You can use one as a note sheet to introduce the topic, and the other two note sheets as practice, differentiate for your learners,

These note sheets are differentiated to fit your students' needs! There are 3 note sheets that are each differentiated multiple ways:

    - Blank note sheet

    - Points plotted but not labeled

    - Points plotted & labeled

    - Points plotted with pictures

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Reflections on the Coordinate Plane Notes with Polygons

This is an EDITABLE guided note sheet and practice file to guide students through reflecting points across an axis on the coordinate plane! Students will plot the ordered pairs to create polygons and then reflect each polygon over the x-axis, the y-axis, or both! Students are able to visually see what reflecting the plotted points looks like while reflecting polygons with these coordinate plane worksheets. This activity includes all four quadrants of the coordinate plane. There is a step-by-step guide for students to reference on the note sheet.

Points being plotted are to the nearest 0.5 or whole number.

This note sheet is differentiated to fit your students' needs! There is 1 note sheet that is differentiated in multiple ways:

    - Blank note sheet

    - Original points of the polygon plotted but not reflected

    - Original points of the polygon plotted and reflected

There are 2 practice pages with three problems each. Each of these pages is differentiated in the same ways as listed above.

There are 2 more practice pages in which students plot points to create a mystery polygon and reflect it across both axes. Each of these pages is differentiated in the same ways as listed above.

There are 4 pages at the end of the document in which students can create their own polygon and practice reflecting it across an axis (or both axes!) on a blank coordinate plane.

All answer keys are included! Answer keys can be printed off for students with accommodations, when students are absent, or to be uploaded for distance learning!

This product is a .zip file that includes both a ready to go printable PDF and an editable PowerPoint file.

Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices; use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Solve real-world and mathematical problems by graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane. Include use of coordinates and absolute value to find distances between points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate.
