Description
Use with any character from any book or story! This classroom resource provides students with an engaging way to explore crime definitions and their application to literature. Write closing arguments for each character investigated, and allow a jury to give their verdict!
Students analyze the characters from the class literature and determine which crimes they have committed based on legal definitions. This activity encourages critical thinking and analysis, while also deepening students' understanding of the themes and motifs within the play as well as the wider world and society.
Each of the criminal charge cards features a term commonly used in criminal law, along with a brief and easy-to-understand definition. With this set, students can quickly and easily familiarize themselves with a wide range of crimes, from Aiding and Abetting to Voluntary Manslaughter.

- 4 editable slides - graphic organizers, closing argument and verdict sheets
- 48 full PDF pages - one for each charge
- 48 PNG files - one for each charge. Add to your classroom resources as needed or appropriate for the age group
