Description

Help students remember the times they had in middle school by giving them a copy of this Eighth Grade Memory Book to complete. It meets several Common Core Standards, so it can easily be included in your curriculum as a fun activity to engage students at the end of the year. The memory book contains neatly laid out pages that allow students to:

- Include pictures of themselves from middle school.

- Write a personal description.

- Identify classmates who are most likely to achieve certain tasks (become present, become a teacher, appear on TV, survive a zombie apocolypse, etc.).

- List and describe special friends.

- List and describe a "special someone" (best friend, significant other).

- List and describe teachers and classes.

- Describe their most memorable teacher.

- List and describe any organizations or clubs they've in which they've participated.

- List and describe any recreation and sports activities in which they've taken part.

- Complete a list of some of their favorite things (restaurants, food, car, songs, etc).

- List the current price of items (gas, candy bar, hamburger, etc).

- List things that are currently popular (sayings, music, fashion, etc).

- Record memories of spring breaks in middle school.

- List and describe important school events.

- List and describe their most important middle school memories (proudest, most embarrassing, funniest, etc.).

- List and describe the dreams and goals they hope to achieve in the next ten years (education, career, family, etc).

- List and describe important local and worldwide events.

- Gather student and faculty signatures.

Also included are a directions page and a "good luck" letter from the staff. All pages are completely editable, but none need to be edited other than the cover page to have it include your own school's name. The original cover page is the one I use in my classroom that contains information about my school, so you can see what it would look like if you chose to include your school's logo. Simply delete this page before printing your copy. The second page includes a royalty-free generic image that will work for any school. Just add your own school name, city, state, and the year before printing.
