Encoded Radial Name Design- Art Elements & Principles! One Hour Sub Plan Lesson

Emergency Sub Plan or an Easy Art Elements Art Activity!

A student-tested, quick Middle School or High School Sub lesson plan with everything ready to go! I came up with this art activity when I needed to take a day unexpectedly.

• We were in the middle of our Art Elements Review, so this lesson worked out great because it uses Line, Color, Shape, and Positive and Negative space as well as the Design Principles: Repetition, Unity, and Balance.
• This lesson is easy, yet concept-rich enough to be used as an Art Elements and Design Principles project as well.
• Another great use for this design is to keep it on hand for when students need an "Early-Finisher" project to work on if they complete their art projects way before everyone else (always happens doesn't it?!!).
• The design takes some concentration to create so noise levels should be low when students work on these. (always nice!)
• This lesson will most likely take two days to complete so it's a great lesson if you are out sick for more than one day too or kids can finish when you return to buy you some time to get back in the swing of teaching ( but...I hope you won't need it for that! Uck flu season!)
