Equal and Not Equal Parts Fraction Background SmartBoard Lesson
Description
This smart board lesson is the first one I use to teach my students about fractions. Before introducing fractions, I teach my students about equal and not equal parts of shapes. This smart board lesson will prepare your students for learning about fractions.

The file includes:
*teacher's notes
*2 anchor posters (equal and not equal parts of shapes)
*yes/no pages (shapes divided into equal parts?)
*pull tabs to find the shape with equal parts
*Drawing pages to model dividing shapes into equal parts (students can follow along on paper or dry erase slates)
*erase to reveal equal parts (how many equal parts?)
*printable worksheet (to check for understanding)
