Description
There are many concepts to know and understand about WWI, WWII and the Cold War, but unless you are a military historian, a student can be overwhelmed. Most United States’ History classes focus on how the United States mobilized for these wars and how it was dealt with on the home front, and these activities are no exception. Students go into different rooms where they have to go to hyperlinks and “data mine” various elements of the periods. After successfully completing their tasks, they are given a series of puzzles to solve, anywhere from Rebus puzzles to Ottendorf Cyphers. At the end, and having completed all puzzles, there is one last message that will enable them to escape this assignment. The activity is in Word as well as PDF so you as a teacher can change any parts of it. As I said in one of the teacher instructions, “You bought it, you can change it.”
