FREE Back to School Check In Worksheet

First day jitters are super common after a long break from school. This worksheet is a wonderful way to find out how your students are feeling about the coming year. It gives you the opportunity to find out which kids may be feeling a bit anxious about the year so that you can keep an eye on them until they settle in.

The activity is super simple. Students identify how they feel about the school year (excited, happy, worried, sad). It may be useful to discuss what these words mean beforehand (especially with younger grades). Underneath, students explain why they feel the way they do.
