Description

Factoring a Polynomial is expressing the polynomial as a product of two or more factors. It is the reverse of the process of multiplying. Teachers will be able to introduce this concept in both languages English and Spanish to be able to reach students whose native language is Spanish. And all students will be able to work on small groups to solve factorization problems that will include binomials and trinomials.

Know and apply the properties of integer exponents to generate equivalent numerical expressions. For example, 3² × (3⁻⁵) = (3⁻³) = 1/3³ = 1/27.
Use square root and cube root symbols to represent solutions to equations of the form 𝘹² = 𝘱 and 𝘹³ = 𝘱, where 𝘱 is a positive rational number. Evaluate square roots of small perfect squares and cube roots of small perfect cubes. Know that √2 is irrational.
Identify zeros of polynomials when suitable factorizations are available, and use the zeros to construct a rough graph of the function defined by the polynomial.
