Description
This resource includes a 26-slide power point lecture (complete with graphics, transitions, and organized information), cloze notes that students can fill in as you teach, and an extension activity in which students will categorize various types of government powers. This lesson is perfect for any U.S. Government or AP® U.S. Government class and covers important unit themes, from the powers of the federal vs state governments to important constitutional clauses to fiscal federalism/grants, and more! I have included editable student fill-in-the-blank cloze notes to correspond with the power point slides if you like to use that format in your classes. They are available as a word document, as well as a fillable PDF students can complete on the computer.
I have also included a link in the teacher directions to make a Google Slides copy of the presentation if you prefer. Just open the Directions and TOU document, click the link, make a copy, and save to your drive. The included activity can be used either before or after covering the notes or you can use it as an informal pre and post assessment. The power point is editable, so you can adjust it to fit your curriculum. I typically cover the notes over the course of two days, so students can better absorb the information.
