Finding Trigonometric Ratios Sine Cosine Tangent Lesson Materials (Guided Notes, Classwork, and Homework):

These 6 student worksheets will help your students learn how to calculate the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios for right triangles. These assignments are designed to be used on the first day that you introduce right triangle trigonometry to your students. These lesson materials include a 2-page set of guided notes, a 2-page classwork assignment, and a 2-page homework assignment, for a total of 6 student worksheets!

The guided notes include a vocabulary section, an example showing the relationship between the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios for similar triangles, an example showing how to find the three trig ratios with the answers written as fractions, an example showing how to find the three trig ratios with the answers written as decimals, and 2 practice questions for students to try on their own. The guided notes are 2 pages long.

The classwork and homework assignments require students to be able to calculate the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios for right triangles. Each assignment is 2 pages long with 30 problems per assignment. The first 15 problems of each assignment require your students to write their answers as simplified fractions, and the second 15 problems of each assignment require your students to write their answers as decimals rounded to the nearest thousandth. These assignments are a wonderful opportunity for your students to practice simplifying fractions and rounding decimals. I recommend allowing your students to use calculators.

This set of lesson materials comes with 2 pages of guided notes and 4 pages of practice (1 classwork assignment and 1 homework assignment), answer keys, and a PowerPoint file containing pictures of the worksheets and keys. The worksheets in the PowerPoint are NOT editable.
