Description
Number lines - one step in difficulty from Level 3.
Number lines begin at whole numbers - not zero. Hence, the student can find improper fractions at any point by using a whole number location on the number line - and the student is off to the races.
If students are only given discrete mixed numbers, proper fractions, improper fractions and decimals, then they 'float' in isolation. These number lines connect the elements in an application setting.
It takes a little bit everyday and the children are masters at this numeracy concept. Strongly recommend using a 'SPACED REPETITION' approach to this type of learning.
