These French Orange Shirt Day printable activities will teach your Junior FSL students about the importance of September 30th in Canada as it is not only Orange Shirt Day/la Journée du chandail orange but also National Day of Truth and Reconciliation/la Journée nationale de la vérité et de la réconciliation. This resource also includes a list of books appropriate for Grades 4-6 you might wish to explore with your students during this learning unit.
Another meaningful resource to include in your teachings is The Witness Blanket/La couveture des témoins as it invites your students to bear witness to the experience and the legacy of Canada’s residential schools.
