This unit is organized into three different sections to make planning and prep a breeze!

TEACH IT! All the tools you’ll need to teach your unit! Includes anchor charts, posters, and low prep whole group activities like a foldable and a card game you can play two different ways. Homonyms Worksheets

Multiple Meaning words Label it! WS- Students work to identify multiple meaning words using a word box and picture clues.

Multiple Meaning Words WS- Draw it! Students read each multiple meaning word, then provide two illustrations of the word’s meanings.

Homonym Cut and Paste- students read two sentences and decide which homonym at the bottom of the page would best complete both sentences.

Spin-a-Multiple-Meaning Word- To complete, students color the multiple meaning words on the spinner. Then, using a paperclip and pencil, students spin and color sentences.

Let’s Write a Sentence- Students read multiple-meaning words, then write two sentences using the word in different ways.

Multiple Meaning Words Centers

Multiple Meaning Word Puzzles! To play, students match a multiple meaning word with its two meanings using picture clues.

Multiple Meaning Words Match-Up- Students read sentences, then identify the multiple meaning word and match it to a picture that depicts the meaning.

ASSESS IT!

This homonyms unit includes 2 formal assessments to use during your study. You do not need to give both. The first assessment is less challenging than the first. This section also includes a writing activity to allow students to use multiple meaning words in their writings.

Multiple Meaning Words- Includes 10 questions. The first 6 are fill in the blank when given a word bank. The last 4 are multiple-choice.

Multiple Meaning Words Assessment- Includes 8 questions. For numbers 1-6, students work to complete sentences by matching the correct homonym to the sentence. For 7-8, students work to write two sentences using a multiple-meaning word.

•My Multiple Meaning Words Story- Students work to use their choice of multiple meaning words to write a short story. Includes a fun glasses craft and self-checking writing rubric.
