Description
HOW TO ASK QUESTIONS - Kindergarten and First Grade
This is a fun, age-appropriate set of materials that can be used to teach young children how to ask good questions (who, where, when, what, why, and how) when they are reading and writing.
I created these materials after realizing that simply saying and posting the question words wasn't effective for our students just learning to read. Our new anchor charts, made with these visuals, are much more effective and have made the questions accessible to all the students.
FOR EACH QUESTION IN THIS PACKET, YOU'LL FIND:
- A Title Speech Bubble - to post on an anchor chart
- An Animal Cue Card - showing an animal whose name rhymes with the question word... very helpful for emerging readers
- A Super Simple Song - written to the tune of "Bingo," gives kids repeated practice with the question word
- A Purpose Poster - to aid you in your explicit instruction and modeling of each question word
- Question Cards - multiple uses explained in the packet
