If WWI Was a Bar Fight - Classroom Skit!
- PDF
Description
I first saw this concept in a funny meme - I'm not 100% sure who to credit with the original, but I wrote this script based off of that funny meme I saved on Pinterest years ago.
This activity is SO fun; it places WWI in a fun, trendy new pub; the Eurobar, in June of 1914. Archduke Ferdinand's assassination is translated into the spilling of a drink, the Versailles treaty magically becomes America ruffling through an unconscious Germany's pockets to buy drinks for all his allied friends, and the Russian Revolution is simply a personality change. It's a great introduction to WWI.
I've included scripts for the instructor and students, a separate lesson plan (which makes it perfect for a substitute!) as well as printable "Hello my name is:" name tags for the entire cast. You'll need at least 12 students to pull this off, and it takes about 20-25 minutes start-to finish.
