Description

If you are looking for a DIGITAL & PRINTABLE resource that has test-prep selections for combining and integrating informational text, vocabulary support, social studies connections, habitat references for a science connection, and text-dependent questions, this resource might help. The text dependent questions include extended response as well as short answer. This resource is most appropriate for grades 3-5 with multiple standards that are listed at the bottom of this posting. ANSWER KEYS ARE INCLUDED FOR THE TEXT QUESTIONS AND RIDDLES.

There are 20 DIGITAL PAGES with NO PREP ready to assign. The digital pages do not include every page of the resource but those I deemed useful to the digital format. YOU CAN CHOOSE HOWEVER MANY PAGES YOU WANT TO ASSIGN AT A TIME.

If you purchase open the green view files tab to get access to both the PDF and digital Easel pages. You can choose the pages for your student's devices. Simply go to edit pages and remove the ones you wish to remove for any given assignment. If you wish to change your selections you can revert back to the original pages and choose again. When you click the "assign" tab you will get a code for your students' devices. I like this option a lot!

Useful for grades 3-5 and even for grade 6 depending upon student reading levels. Students will be able to read about six different wildcats and know what is similar and different by combining the information from all the wildcats.

I added full page texts for each of the six wildcats in the snapshots section. This way teachers can present one cat at a time versus the two at a time from the smaller snapshots. The larger font is easier to read in the full pages. The benefit of the snapshots is they can be pasted into notebooks easily.

This would also be a great unit to begin a research project. I included websites students could explore further.

This file includes:

1. Six Brazilian wild cat snapshots. Each snapshot has text and a photo of the wildcat.

2. Core reading standards for third, fourth, and fifth grade

3. An Amazon Rainforest habitat poster

4. Vocabulary preview (2 pages)

Third Grade

Mix and match the items that will fit your purposes best. However, the text dependent questions do include facts from the map page, vocabulary notes, and the text box. I designed the text dependent questions with third-fifth grade standardized testing in mind. Naturally, this unit can be used without these questions; however, they would be beneficial to you as an assessment piece for reading comprehension.
