Isotopes of "Beanium" Activity/Lab

Students practice collecting data on three different "isotopes of beans (black, read and large white beans). After given a sample of "Beanium," they calculate both the unweighted and weighted average mass of a bean in their sample. Extra basic Chemistry math practice is included such as performing operations in scientific notation, calculating density and calculating weighted averages is included. There is also data provided so that this could be modified as a paper lab so no lab equipment or beans are actually needed.
