This is NOT a complete country study. It is designed as a supplement and a break from regular research. It gives students some insight into Japanese life and culture that's not often written in regular information books for kids. The lesson is led by 20 key Japanese words with tidbits of interesting information:
- samurai
- kanji**
- Nihon**
- shiro
- sushi*
- sakura**
- sumo
- bento**
- ramen*
- matsuri*
- ninja
- kimono*
- karate
- hanami**
- jinja
- yen**
- origami
- kotatsu*
- gakkou**
- karaoke*
In the end, it culminates in a game that reviews the vocabulary. All files are adjustable, so you can add or take away what you want.
Words with a star* next to them indicate they are used FREQUENTLY in the Japanese language. Two stars** means it's VERY frequent.

ABOUT
I was an American teacher who did a cultural exchange between my class and Japanese schools, and I eventually went to Japan on an exchange program to visit their K-12 schools! I want to share all the interesting and relevant things I think our students want to know about Japan!
