What educators are saying

My students absolutely loved this resource. I purchased this because I'm a Swiftie, so I thought it'd be something fun and different, but all classes loved it. Not sure who loved it more, me or the new Swiftie's?
This was a wonderful resource to use with my students. Thank you for creating an engaging and aligned resource that was easy to use.

Description

During a poetry unit, it’s pretty easy for students to get lost. That’s why I created this resource. Students will complete a poetry analysis of the song “Long Live” by Taylor Swift. Students will analyze the following components of a poem: theme, speaker, word choice, imagery, figurative language, and tone. Once students complete the poetry analysis, it may be helpful to have them conduct their own poetry analysis reviewing figurative language. In the product, I have also included a figurative language product outline and template for students to review figurative language using an artist of their choice.

The lesson in itself, may take between 45 minutes and 60 minutes. However, if you choose to do the figurative language project, it may take two class periods (45 minutes each).
