Description

Quick mini-research Black History Month project to highlight notable African American musicians

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Over 50 names of notable musicians to research!

Super quick project to incorporate Black History into your classroom!

Assign in Google Classroom or Apple Classroom!

Time is something that teachers never have enough of! This is a quick and easy mini-research project for students to present information on notable African American musicians. Students will learn about musicians that are not mainstream today, like Ella Fitzgerald, Scott Joplin, and Count Basie. Musicians range from R&B to ragtime to gospel to blues, and more. This product contains a teacher model file, a graphic organizer for student research, a list of 50+ notable musicians, and a template for an e-presentation. You can assign this mini-project through Google classroom by simply uploading the template into Google Slides, or you can have students work on it through Apple Classroom (in Keynote) or in Microsoft’s OneDrive. When they are finished with this great 1-day research project, students can post their slides to Seesaw or a class website. The fields on the graphic organizer match the e-presentation file, so transferring information should be easy for students. When I used this project in my classroom, I also had my students lip sync to the first 60 seconds of one of their popular songs during their presentation. They received extra credit if they sang the song.

Don’t delay! Celebrate Black History today!
