Mini Book Templates

Any reading you want to give your students is more fun in book form. These handy templates make it easy to turn any text into a "mini book" that students illustrate to demonstrate their comprehension. A "mini book" is a folded paper (copied front and back) to create 4 pages.

This package includes two templates and detailed instructions and teaching suggestions for using each one:

• A "Write In" Mini Book: Students write in the text into their Mini Book. This is great for Write and Discuss: as the teacher models the writing for the class, students copy the writing onto the book template. Then give them a few minutes to re-read and illustrate, or illustrate it at home for homework. Alternately, students can create their own stories and accompanying illustrations (which makes an easy sub plan!)

• A "Type In" Mini Book: This template will allow you to type in your own story, or copy and paste a story or article you already teach. Read it together as a class, or have them read it in pairs or individually, then demonstrate their reading comprehension by illustrating their book. (Another great sub plan idea!)
