I enjoyed doing this acrostic activity with my special education high school students. We had fun coming up with new words to describe their mothers for Mother's Day.
Used this during my poem unit which happenend to fall around Mother's Day so it was the perfect resource to teach about acrostic poems and also use as a Mother's Day gift
Description
Great for grades 1st through 8th, students will select a template with a topic word on it (mother) The letters of the topic word will be used as the first letter for each line of the poem. Students will think of words or phrases that are related to the topic word. Students can make one acrostic poem, or multiple.
Students can then color the sheet and the teacher can glue it to a piece of construction paper for a fun, beautiful mother's day craft with learning involved.
