What educators are saying

My students loved making Mother's Day cards using this resource. It was a fun way to come back and review metaphors while creating a gift to take home. I would recommend this for grades 3-5. You can adjust the resource to make it more challenging for those students who need it.
I was looking for something new for Mother's Day and this looks great! Love that it also includes Father's Day

Description

This file includes all of the materials needed for your students to create an unforgettable card for Mother's Day.... and it even includes the materials to create a Father's Day card as well!

Both files follow the same pattern:

Front of Card:

Metaphors for Mom

Dadjectives

Inside Left:

Students read the two items listed and circle the one they think their parent likes better (example: fancy restaurant or fast food?)

Inside Right:

A trophy lists an award students think his/her parent should receive

A personal letter is tucked inside the trophy

Back of Card:

Teachers can choose the writing they want their students to include on this page (perhaps a poem, memory, or a list)

Do you have students who do not have a mother or father? There is an "alternate" file for those students. "Mom" or "Dad" are not listed on these worksheets. These students may choose to make a card for their grandma, aunt, uncle, foster parent, stepparent, or another special person in their life.

Student-friendly directions (with photos) are included so that you can place the directions under your document camera, and students can refer to them as they complete the project.

Check out the PREVIEW to see most of the papers included in this file!

As the end of the school year quickly approaches, you may want to consider these fun, project to keep your students engaged during those last few weeks of school! End of Year Writing Craftivity: Together We Soared Awards (students create awards for one another!) OR

End of Year Writing Craftivity: Up, Up, and Away!
