Mother’s Day Mini Book

This mini book will be perfect for intermediate students to write about their mothers as a gift for Mother's Day. It features an all blackline design for easy photocopying. Students will only need to fold twice to create their mini book. I like to have my students add an original cover that they make out of construction paper.

I purposely left off the word Mother to be sensitive to students that are in alternative situations. Not every child will have a mother in the picture, but I sincerely believe that every child has at least one caring adult female in his or her life. I always treat Mother's Day as a time to focus on the great women in our lives that make us feel loved and cherished, no matter what their "official" title is.

Front Page: Wonderful You! gives the students the opportunity to draw or attach a picture of their mother and write a few sentences about how beautiful she is to them.

Inside Left Page: You are so sweet! gives the students the opportunity to write a few sentences about the sweet things their mothers have done for them.

Inside Right Page: I LOVE when you... gives the students the opportunity to recount favorite memories with their mothers.

Back Page Page: My GIFT to you... gives the students the opportunity to describe something kind they will do for their mothers. Gifts don't have to cost a penny, so this gives them a chance to reflect on some type of service they can give to their moms as an intangible gift.
