Description
Can you imagine if muscle contraction were easy AND fun in your Anatomy & Physiology classroom? Use this resource to provide your students with a engaging and easy-to-digest way to learn the steps of cross bridge cycling between actin and myosin.
I highly recommend that your students complete this set of Myofilaments Doodle Notes and the accompanying modeling activity prior to learning cross-bridge cycling.
Part 1: Complete the Cross-Bridge Cycling Doodle Notes™ with your students. I have included a more interactive cut & paste version of the Doodle Notes and a simpler fill-in-the-blank version of the Doodle Notes™. You can use the provided PowerPoint or a document camera to complete the Doodle Notes™. They usually take us 10-15 minutes.
Part 2: Students complete the cross-bridge cycling sorting cards. I have students complete them two or three times. The first time, students must complete them with a partner using their notes. The second time, students complete them with a partner and no notes. They third time, students complete them alone with no notes. This can take anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes depending on student ability level.
The resources are available in both print and digital forms (except the sorting cards).
Included within this resource, you will receive the following print resources:
- 4+ PDF versions of the Doodle Notes™ (blank, fill-in-blank, cut & paste, key)
- 15-slide PowerPoint Presentation that corresponds with the Doodle Notes™ (editable text)
- 2-pages of Cross-Bridge Cycling Sorting Cards (PDF format)
Also included are digital (through Google Slides™) versions of the:
- Doodle Notes™ with textboxes for notes (non-editable)
- 15-slide presentation that corresponds with the Doodle Notes™ (editable text)
This resource comes from my full Muscular System Unit! It is also included in my Full-Year Anatomy & Physiology Curriculum.
