What educators are saying
I enjoy having seasonal boards up for my students, and I loved the colors and information that this one has. Unfortunately, I could not use the QR code feature because we are a phone-free school, but the rest of it was engaging and informative.
I love the comprehensiveness of all of Ursla Chan's bulletin board sets. This set includes all the information needed to set up an engaging and though provoking bulletin board for students and educators.
Description
Native American Heritage Month Bulletin Board
November is Native American Heritage Month! Acknowledge this month in your classroom with this bulletin board set.
This download includes:
- Banner "Native American Heritage Month"
- 4, 8.5 x 11 posters featuring two native people and their quotes (Deb Haaland and Sacheen Littlefeather)
- Maps: World, North, and South America
- Appropriate Terminology
- 3 native plants and their names
Updates:
- Two QR codes linked to videos of Sacheen Littlefeather and Deb Haaland. Sacheen Littlefeather's QR code comes with some accompanying context. Videos are safe links that do not take students to YouTube to avoid ads and ongoing playlist videos.
- Response sheets to those videos (more suited for middle school students)
- "What Native Land is your school on?" QR code to scan and type in zip code to find out what native land you're on. Option to display the name of the tribal land.
- Blurb to affirm that Native people are not stereotypes and they are diverse people with many cultures, languages, interests, aspirations, and dreams. Most importantly, they're still here!
- Sacheen Littlefeather's poster has been updated since her recent passing.
- Native American Three Sisters cut-out image with description
