Description
This workbook covers the Grade 7 Natural Resources Around the World: Use and Sustainability, unit in the Ontario Geography curriculum.
In this workbook, students will learn about a wide range of topics related to natural resources and environmental sustainability. They'll start by understanding what resources are and then explore the classification of natural resources, including renewables like water and forests, as well as different logging methods. The workbook covers flow resources and examines nonrenewable resources, like mining and oil, using case studies such as diamonds. Students will also consider the environmental impacts of fossil fuels, develop a balanced perspective, and evaluate conservation organizations, especially in Ontario.
Practical actions like fair trade and boycotts are discussed, and students will assess their ecological footprint and create personal sustainability plans. This workbook offers a comprehensive education on natural resources and encourages students to take meaningful steps towards sustainability.
To support assessment practices, a quiz is included at the end of the workbook.
