What educators are saying

Great resource. I would love to have rational numbers and opposites with number lines. This is great for building previous number sense. Thank you.
My students and I loved using this to build their skills! We slipped them into dry erase pockets to use them over and over again!

    1. FACT: Our brains seek out novel experiences to learn new things.

2.FACT: We need more than one or two experiences with new concepts to own them.

3.FACT: Many children are not ready for a concept until long after we have moved on.

    3. CONCLUSION: Highly effective elementary math instruction combines spiraling repetition with novel experiences.

This binder of templates can be shared 1 at a time, or 4 per week with a student choice repeat on Friday. Print and place in page protectors in each students notebook for a daily warm up or center activity. Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
Explain patterns in the number of zeros of the product when multiplying a number by powers of 10, and explain patterns in the placement of the decimal point when a decimal is multiplied or divided by a power of 10. Use whole-number exponents to denote powers of 10.
