I love this activity!!! I am always looking for ways to keep Math lessons interactive and fun. This is a great activity to do that. Thank you!

Description

Ready to teach or review the Order of Operations? As you work through it together have students fill in the blanks with the various items that are needed. Then show them the "hopscotch" method for demonstrating the order to refer that Multiplication and Division are left to right as well as Addition and Subtraction.

In this Order of Operations Lesson, students will work through a graphic organizer to understand the sequence of Order of Operations. This lesson provides differentiated resources by providing the graphic organizer with and without a word bank and then also an Order of Operations Flippable to be used prior to moving on to the Order of Operations Puzzle Sort.

The lesson included in this download can be used to help teach your students in whole group or small groups. Each of the activities (input and output) is interactive which will keep your students engaged.

Evaluate expressions at specific values of their variables. Include expressions that arise from formulas used in real-world problems. Perform arithmetic operations, including those involving whole-number exponents, in the conventional order when there are no parentheses to specify a particular order (Order of Operations). For example, use the formulas V = s³ and A = 6 s² to find the volume and surface area of a cube with sides of length s = 1/2.
