Description
This set of notes would be useful for teachers who are new to the Orton-Gillingham way of teaching syllables or simply need a quick revision of the types and patterns before teaching it.
It is broken down into 14 lessons, with each focusing on a syllable pattern. There are also real and ‘nonsense’ word examples for each syllable pattern.
The 14 lessons are:
1. Closed (VC) and Open(V) Syllables
2. VC/CV (Closed + Closed Syllables)
3. VC/CV (Closed + C - V Magic ‘e’ Syllables)
4. VC/CV (Closed + C - V R controlled Syllables) & Schwa
5. VC/CV (Closed + C-Vowel Team/Diphthong Syllables)
6. V/CV (Open + Closed syllables)
7. V/CV (Open + C V-Magic ‘e’ Syllables)
8. V/CV (Open + C-V R-Controlled Syllables)
9. V/CV (Open + C - Vowel Team/Diphthong Syllables)
10. VC/V (Closed + Closed syllables)
11. VC/V (Closed + V- Magic ‘e’ syllables)
12. VC/V (Closed + V R-controlled Syllables)
13. VC/C-le (Closed + C-le syllables)
14. VV (Open+ Closed syllables)
This set of notes comes in 2 DESIGNS - Pretty Pastel or Simple Monochrome. Simply select the design of your choice, print as A5/A4 sized notes, laminate if desired, then secure them together with a metal ring. Bring them to class if you will for easy reference during lessons!
