What educators are saying

This is a great resource for teaching about Piet Mondrian and his use of color. This resource was a big hit with my 1st grade students. The final product exceeded my expectations.
My kinders loved this! Learning about the primary colors has been one of their favorite things, and they loved creating Mondrian inspired work.

Description

This is a fun art lesson to do with young children to practice cutting, gluing, and painting skills. Students will learn about artist Piet Mondrian and his abstract paintings. Vocabulary words such as primary colors, vertical, horizontal, square, rectangle, and abstract art will be discussed. The art lesson is written out step-by-step and includes a list of materials needed and pictures with instructions for students to follow. There are two options for the art project. You can do it as a collage or painting. This is a fun lesson I do with Kindergarten year after year that they always remember!
