What educators are saying

Excellent PowerPoint with wonderful examples. A lot of hard work went into this PowerPoint. Thank you for sharing.
My students loved completing this activity. I added a question at the end which asked them to choose their own advertisement or commercial and analyze it as well. I got some great responses.

Description

Have you or your students ever fallen victim to classical conditioning embedded in advertising? This engaging lesson and activity will reveal how it happens all the time.

This lesson focuses on engaging students by first teaching the concept through relatable examples. After completing a mini-lesson using a short Nike YouTube commercial video lesson that teaches the concept, students practice the concept by finding and sharing examples of their own. The final activity has students complete gallery walk analysis of six advertisements that creatively embed classical conditioning.

This lesson serves as an engaging real-life extension for a Psychology unit teaching conditioning or a class focusing on marketing/advertising. This lesson has also been adapted to be friendly for remote/online learning.

Overall, this lesson package contains:

-PowerPoint Lesson - Embedded with small activities, video lesson, and directions

-Gallery Walk of 6 advertisements- Editable in PPT and included as a PDF

-Student Activity (Google Slide) - Students follow along with the lesson via a shareable/editable Google Slide (also can be printed)
