Description

These WH question maps are perfect for students who need to work on grammar, question formulation, conversational turn-taking, or social language! The entire packet works wonderfully with students who use AAC devices, and the first level can be used easily with students who are nonverbal as they can point to the words to organize them into questions.

This packet is divided into 2 sections which are leveled.

Section/level 1 is the basic level and requires your students to rearrange given words into a specific question type (e.g., who, what, when, etc..) that is related to a prompt at the top of the page. If your students need additional support at this level, write the given words on index cards and practice rearranging them before writing out the sentence at the bottom of the page.

There are 5 pages for each of the following question types: who, what, when, where, why, how (how many, how old, how much, how long), do, is, and are.

The first 2 pages of each WH question type include the words with punctuation and capitalization as an additional cue for your students. The last 3 pages of each WH question type do not include this to make the activity more difficult.

There is a blank page for customization included as well.

Section/level 2 is a perfect activity to practice generalizing question formulation into functional and social contexts. These “question formulation maps” have a prompt in the middle of the page, surrounded by question types (e.g., who, what, when, are, is, etc…).

Challenge your students to come up with as many questions to get more information about the prompt as possible. There are 15 pages in this section. In addition, there is a blank page with no written prompt so you can customize it with your own statements.

There is a record form included in the packet for your students to write their questions.

In addition, the resource includes a Boom cards™️ version of level 1!
