Description
Need some inspiration to get those report cards finished? This is a class set of Reggio-inspired report cards, which include 5 sections: Life Skills, Literacy, Math, Science and Social Studies. In addition to Reggio principles, they are also written in reference to “Early Learning for Every Child Today, A framework for Ontario early childhood settings” as well as common core. Each student has two comments, one for Semester 1 and one for Semester 2, to show growth. Below is an example of one child’s Life Skills comments for the 2 semesters. You will find comments specific to math, literacy, science and social studies in a later section in the document.
“GIRL’S actions show her understanding of the school values. GIRL consistently puts forth her best effort in her daily activities. GIRL loves to sing at circle time and this has helped to improve her confidence in her language skills and in the classroom setting. GIRL engages in imaginative play with her friends, often choosing to play in the dramatic center. This semester, she has been developing her creativity and learning to be a flexible thinker. She also exchanges ideas with her peers and shares her materials and toys. GIRL is always eager to offer objects and toys that are relevant to what her friends are playing. GIRL has a positive attitude that will bring her success this year.
GIRL has progressed well throughout the year. She is always willing to try something new. GIRL looks for and acts on new ideas and opportunities for learning. She demonstrates teamwork skills by collaborating with others in a group. GIRL perseveres and makes an effort when responding to challenges. A next step for GIRL is to seek out assistance when she is unsure of something, such as directions or an assignment.”
