SCR Short Constructed Response Task Cards: FICTION CHARACTERIZATION
Prepare for the SHORT CONSTRCUTED RESPONSE on the new STAAR Redesign by establishing consistent writing routines in your classroom. One way to do this is by providing students with multiple opportunities to write from intentionally designed and TEKS-aligned writing prompts with these task cards.
This resource could be used in the following ways:
- Posted as a gallery walk to give students choice in their writing
- Used as stations in which students collaborate to write a "group response"
- Weekly quick writes, using engaging texts
- Warm-ups or exit tickets
- etc.!
Everything in this resource has been thoughtfully and strategically designed to sufficiently prepare students for the new writing on the ELA STAAR as well as avoid burnout during this preparation by giving students choice!
