Sentence Repair Workshop

This sentence repair workshop is designed to get your students editing sentences which can help to improve their grammatical knowledge and enhance their writing skills. They will love getting their detective on and searching for the errors in the sentences. The sentences are levelled so that you can differentiate the focus/skill for each student or group and there are over 150 different sentences included.

The levels are as follows:

Level A: Beginning and Ending Punctuation – Capitalizing the first letter and adding a period, question mark or exclamation mark to the end of sentences.

Level B: Spelling and Punctuation – Correcting spelling, fixing incorrect capitalization, adding ending punctuation and replacing incorrect homophones and verb tenses.

Level C: Adding Conjunctions – Combining 2 sentences into a single sentence using a conjunction.

Level D: Apostrophes, Commas and Speech Marks – Covers apostrophes for possession/contractions, commas in a series and sentences that require speech marks.

Students can record the repaired sentences on the recording sheets included or directly in their workbooks. The sentences are numbered and an answer key is included for self-correction and easy marking.
